Or, you know, you could get rid of situation outfits in a patch and just let sims wear their everyday clothing. I would love a mod that turns off situational/festival outfits as well. .so i made a small override to remove the stupid situation outfits.

Like, there is a specific button that says “disable situation outfits” or something like that, where you can check those that you want to disable.
This mod by bienchen allows you to disable them and keep your sims'.
This removes the uniform from high school situation jobs because unless there's a pajama day, it's just not worth it. Now npcs won't walk around dressed in such weird clothes despite having the holidays up on the calendar. You can actually disable situational outfits entirely through mccc. Settings, manage [sim’s] threads, manage all threads, create thread, and change into threads.
Is there a mod or a setting that can stop my sims and my townies from spawning in horrendous situational outfits whenever they wander somewhere that isn't their house? Assign outfits based on body frame (adult/child), and fashion preference.

Basically, how it works is it takes outfits saved in mc_dresser.cfg to apply them to any sim that's randomly generated. I do use mods to disable them but, a lot of people don't want to use. You can disable some ‘walkby situation outfits’ via mccc and others can be disabled by using outfit mods by bienchen This is an override to remove the situation outfits that came with the holidays in seasons (winterfest, formal outfits, and the go streaking tradition). If you hate sims showing up to festivals and certain lots in dumb outfits you didn’t select for them, you can change that!

You need mods to do this. An override that removes situation outfits from holidays in seasons. I would recommend bienchen's mods that basically eliminate situations all together though rather than trying to find one that will make you edit all the. If you’re able to use mods, there is a mod for that.
