Now npcs won't walk around dressed in such weird clothes despite having the holidays up on the calendar. Basically, how it works is it takes outfits saved in mc_dresser.cfg to apply them to any sim that's randomly generated. This mod makes sims wear their normal outfits when visiting thriftea.

Like, there is a specific button that says “disable situation outfits” or something like that, where you can check those that you want to disable. I spent hours in cc hunting, and more to create my perfect sims. Thank god for mccc where you can disable situational outfits. One version disables situational clothing for sims at the flower and music festival that akes placy in sulani every tuesday, while the other version will only change those outfits to be more fitting. There are also specific npcs like the homeless townies that sleep in.
It also allows configuration of custom definitions which provide the ability to further control skin details, scars, tattoos and such as sims get older or for randomly generated sims. Only to have them in some random ugly outfits due to the situation outfit changes to the point where i don't recognize them at all. Tired of being unpleasantly surprised by townie styles? A situation job is a specific “job” that an npc sim does in the world.
Npc sims that are randomly pulled for a specific purpose are “working” situation jobs. Adding to the other comment: They will change back to their previous outfits afterward. I tried the no situation outfits in rom mod that’s been floating around here but it didn’t seem to work.
A situation in the sims 4 is like a job (mailcarrier, repair service, &c) or an event (a party or date).
Perks cost more (up 21/07) Take control of the fashion aesthetics of your sims and gain full authority over what they wear by getting yourself the fashion authority mod by lot 51. It also applies to sims when they age up, but you can disable it for certain ages. Use mc command center's mc dresser setting.
