Cowboy hats are various pieces of headwear in fallout: If you're on pc check out the bloody courier clothes mod, it's got a 'cowboy' aesthetic and it's lore friendly and fits right at home in the base game. Modern gunslinger armor adds three unique sets of armor and five new pieces of headgear, all fairly closely in line with the lore and setting of new vegas. I recommend armed to the teeh mod that let you have several weapons on display.

If you’re interested in the appearance of your characters as me, then the best new vegas clothing mods are exactly what you need. My current cowboy is red scarf ranger outfit and the sheriff hat. All variants have a damage threshold of 1, and provide a bonus of 1 to perception, as they shield the wearer's eyes from the sun. In terms of adding more of a western feel, less stuff immediately comes to mind for me, but there are some cool western themed armor mods, and a good revolver mod is perfect for a cowboy character, so i'll make a couple recommendations.

I've tried all combos extensively for this playthrough and none of the other hats came close and scarves are seriously cowboy. It has a buttoned down.
